Hello and Welcome

There is one comment we have heard more than any other when we tell people about our rig and why we have it. It’s funny, too, because living this lifestyle makes it easy to overlook how lucky we are. That comment we hear most often is “Wow, you’re living the dream” and truly we are. Welcome to RV Daily Driver. My name is Brittnay and my husband is Kenny.
If you’re reading this then you have entered my corner. This is where I’ll be talking all things RV cooking, sharing recipes, meal prep ideas, book talk for those avid readers out there, the RV lifestyle, what it’s like to be a passenger princess, and so many other topics!
It started three years ago when we bought our first RV, a Class B rig, the Entegra Launch on the Mercedes chassis. Neither of us knew if this was something we’d be into or want to do long-term and we learned very quickly that not only did we love it, we needed an upgrade. SIZE MATTERS, sorry not sorry!
A little backstory…
Kenny found the Entegra Launch sight unseen and had it shipped to Iowa, the closest location to us for a vehicle pickup and that is where the fun began. Like with any new vehicle, there are kinks to be fixed, from over $14,000 in new batteries, water issues, heater issues, rattles, you name it, we’ve experienced it. One pro tip: BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I repeat buy the extended warranty on a vehicle like this, you will need it. After traveling as weekend warriors, not only were we anywhere and everywhere, but quickly we realized we needed more space. Once again Kenny took the lead and landed us in our current rig, a 2024 Jayco Granite Ridge 22T.
Friends, do you mind if I refer to you as a friend? Great! Moving on, please don’t for one second think we drove off the lot in our new rig without any issues. No ladder, no mini speaker and a warped door, that we dealt with for a while because if you own an RV then you already know everything is a process and that process takes forever. After getting the door fixed, things were looking up. And I know what you’re going to ask, nope we never got the ladder and we never got our mini speaker, but we did find ourselves without heat one night and Kenny was out in the freezing weather fixing it with help from a Facebook group for our particular model. Next tidbit of advice: join groups on socials because I can promise you someone has been there and has the fix for your problem!
A little about us: we have been married for 22 years and together for 23. We have two daughters, a grandson and a son-in-law. We’re originally from Texas but currently live in Missouri, and part of the idea behind an RV was the ability to pack up and go see family when possible and stay anywhere without stepping on the toes of our kids and still having some of our creature comforts. We tend to travel within a 6-hour radius of our current address to play golf, gamble, kayak, take cave tours, go to concerts, and find hidden gems like hole-in-the-wall restaurants and tourist-trap stops. Come along with us as we bring you into our lives and the adventures we seek out.
